Naniwa Gardening/Workshop Japanese Whetstone Sharpening Stone, 150/800
133x40x28mm (5.25x1.57x1.1 inches)Ā
This is a great little affordable dual-sided stone (coarse 150grit + fine 800grit) that is perfect for the garage or workshop for quick tool touchups. I keep one in my garage to sharpen my gardening tools and lawn mower blade. It's small and inexpensive, but it's a pretty good quality stone! You can certainly put a nice edge on just about anything. For my garden tools and lawn-mower blade, I just hold this in my hand and keep the blade steady with the other hand or in a vise. And I use it flat on a table just like a regular bench stone to sharpen my little pocket knives. Just use this like any other Japanese water-stone: just soak in it water for a few minutes before use, and then keep it wet while in use for best results. But to be honest, I just use it dry when I need to touch up a garden tool or my lawn mower and it works fine.
