Bialetti Moka Express 1-Cup Replacement Seals and Filter Kit

Three replacement gaskets and one filter plate for the 1-cup Bialetti Moka Express. The gaskets are the rubber rings that seal the top of the pot to the base, and the filter plate sits just above them to hold back the grounds. Fitting a fresh set brings back a tight seal and a clean pour when an older pot starts to leak or splutter, and three gaskets means two more changes are already in the drawer.

The Moka Express, with its eight-sided aluminum body, has been brewing stovetop coffee since Alfonso Bialetti designed it in 1933. It works by pressure: water heated in the base is pushed up through the coffee and into the top chamber, and the gasket is what holds that pressure in. Bialetti makes its gaskets and filter plates in a size for each pot, so a fresh set fits the way the original did.

Use & care: to fit, unscrew the pot, pull out the old gasket and filter plate, set the new plate in place and press the new gasket evenly into the top section until it sits flat. Replace the gasket whenever it hardens, cracks or leaks, and at least once a year in any case. Wash the pot and its parts with warm water only, no detergent or abrasive pads, and not in the dishwasher. If the coffee comes through slowly, check the holes in the filter plate and clear them with a soft brush or a needle.
