A slim, everyday hinoki cutting board in a compact size that is easy to bring out for quick prep and easy to store. Thin and light at about 10 mm, it is the natural first hinoki board for a smaller kitchen.
Hinoki is a Japanese cypress prized for its beauty and its clean, gentle fragrance. As a cutting surface it is medium-soft, so it gives slightly under the blade and helps protect a fine edge. The wood is grown in Japan and is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) certified, made from timber recovered through the forest thinning that keeps a woodland healthy.
Use & care: wet the board before each use to help it resist staining; wash by hand with mild detergent, towel dry, then let it air-dry away from direct sunlight; do not put it in the dishwasher. If the board ever cups, turn it over and use the other side until it flattens.
