A substantial hinoki cutting board, a full inch thick, in a large size for serious prep and carving. Heavy enough to stay put while you work, and built to be resurfaced and kept for years.
Hinoki is a Japanese cypress prized for its beauty and its clean, gentle fragrance. As a cutting surface it is medium-soft, so it gives slightly under the blade and helps protect a fine edge. The wood is grown in Japan and is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) certified, made from timber recovered through the forest thinning that keeps a woodland healthy.
Use & care: wet the board before each use to help it resist staining; wash by hand with mild detergent, towel dry, then let it air-dry away from direct sunlight; do not put it in the dishwasher. If the board ever cups, turn it over and use the other side until it flattens.
